Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report, the much-anticipated sequel, Control 2, has triumphantly passed its concept validation phase and is now in full production. This milestone is a clear indicator of the project's robust progress and solidifies its trajectory towards release.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is also actively developing two other exciting projects: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these titles were in the pre-production stage, but they have since progressed to active development. However, the project Kestrel, which was developed in partnership with Tencent, has been officially canceled and removed from Remedy's development slate as of May last year.

All of these projects are being crafted using Remedy's in-house engine, Northlight, which has demonstrated its prowess in titles such as Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy endeavors.

From a financial perspective, Control 2 carries a budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak has a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This project will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain shrouded in mystery regarding their budget. However, it is known that they will be AAA-level titles, with full development and marketing support provided by Rockstar Games.
