NetherRealm Studios unveils gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1's T-1000 DLC character and announces Madam Bo as a Kameo fighter.

The T-1000's gameplay showcases attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2, utilizing blade and hook arms, similar in style to Baraka and Kabal. A unique move involves transforming into liquid metal before launching a ground-based uppercut, echoing Killer Instinct's Glacius. Robert Patrick, the original T-1000 actor, provides voice and likeness, featured in a confrontation with Johnny Cage. The trailer culminates in a Fatality recreating the iconic Terminator 2 truck chase scene.

PlaySimultaneously, NetherRealm surprised fans by revealing Madam Bo, a popular character from the base game's story, as an upcoming Kameo fighter. Brief glimpses of Madam Bo's gameplay are shown, including a pre-match scene and an assist for the T-1000.

The T-1000 becomes available on March 18th for early access (Khaos Reigns owners), with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo launches March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.

The T-1000 concludes the Khaos Reigns DLC character additions, following Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. Speculation about a potential third DLC pack or Kombat Pack 3 persists, fueled by the franchise's ongoing success. Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise remains strong, with plans to expand its focus on key titles, including Mortal Kombat.

Madam Bo joins Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.
Ed Boon previously stated NetherRealm had planned its next project three years prior, assuring continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third Injustice game, official confirmation remains pending. The development timeline, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to a new Unreal Engine, contributed to the decision to release another Mortal Kombat game before returning to the Injustice franchise. Boon confirmed that the Injustice franchise is not abandoned.
