Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Version: Enhanced Features Revealed
A new trailer confirms a wealth of features for the upcoming PC release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Launching on January 23rd, 2025, nearly a year after its PS5 debut, the PC port boasts significant enhancements.
Following its highly acclaimed PS5 exclusive release in February 2024, demand for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on other platforms surged. While an Xbox release remains unconfirmed, Square Enix delivered on the promised PC port. The recent trailer showcases a range of improvements designed to leverage PC hardware.
The PC version will support resolutions up to 4K and frame rates of up to 120fps. Beyond this, players can expect "improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals," though specific details are yet to be revealed. Three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) will allow players to optimize performance based on their system specifications. An additional setting will control the number of on-screen NPCs, potentially aiding CPU performance.
Key PC Features:
- Mouse and keyboard support
- DualSense controller support (with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers)
- Up to 4K resolution and 120fps
- Improved lighting and enhanced visuals
- Three graphical presets: High, Medium, Low (with NPC count adjustment)
- Nvidia DLSS support
While the inclusion of mouse and keyboard controls and DualSense support caters to diverse preferences, the absence of AMD FSR support is notable. This may result in a performance disparity for users with AMD graphics cards.
The robust feature set suggests a strong PC launch is anticipated. However, Square Enix's previous sales figures for the PS5 version were reportedly underwhelming. The commercial success of the PC port remains to be seen.
