MiHoYo's upcoming action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, unveiled exciting new content in a recent pre-release livestream. This version 1.0 showcase, just before the game's July 4th launch, offers a final glimpse at new playable areas, characters, and more.
Set in a post-apocalyptic New Eridu—the last human city after the devastating Hollows event—players take on the role of a "Proxy" to explore this urban fantasy world. A departure from MiHoYo's usual sci-fi and fantasy settings (like Honkai and Genshin Impact), Zenless Zone Zero has the potential to be the studio's biggest success yet.
High Stakes for MiHoYo?
Launching on July 4th, Zenless Zone Zero joins MiHoYo's already impressive portfolio, built significantly upon the phenomenal success of Genshin Impact. The game's unique urban fantasy setting, and the prominent role of music showcased in the livestream, distinguishes it from previous titles.
Could MiHoYo be following in the footsteps of Supercell, creating a string of successful mobile games? Or will Zenless Zone Zero prove too ambitious even for them? Only time will tell.
