Wukong Sun will make its way to Nintendo Switch in a few days

The gaming world often sees projects attempting to capitalize on the success of popular titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend doesn't merely draw inspiration; it appears to directly copy elements from Game Science's acclaimed hit. The visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot summary strongly resemble a direct imitation.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future is uncertain. Given the apparent plagiarism, Game Science could pursue a copyright infringement lawsuit, leading to the project's removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: “Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, fighting for order in a chaotic world teeming with powerful monsters and deadly dangers. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense battles, breathtaking locations, and legendary enemies.”

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong is a celebrated epic adventure rooted in Chinese mythology. The unexpected popularity of this RPG from a small Chinese studio, even topping Steam charts, is remarkable. Black Myth: Wukong boasts exceptional detail, engaging gameplay, and challenging yet accessible combat. While incorporating elements of the Souls-like genre, it remains approachable for newcomers.

The combat system and progression are thoughtfully designed, avoiding the need for extensive guides while still encouraging strategic thinking. Visually, the battles are stunning, showcasing fluid animations. The game's greatest strengths lie in its setting and visual design, immersing players in a captivating world with breathtaking character design and scenery. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
