Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic will kick off the seventh and final phase of Season of Discovery on January 28, featuring the new Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event. Just over a week later, on February 6, guilds in World of Warcraft Classic can embark on the legendary Naxxramas raid, which promises new challenges for players to conquer.
Phase 7 of Season of Discovery comes only two months after Phase 6, which brought players back to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During their exploration of Ahn'qiraj to battle threats like the Old God C'thun, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure in the desert ruins. Although many speculated that this figure was Xal'atath, the main antagonist of World of Warcraft: The War Within, the NPC merely hinted at the Old Gods during Phase 6. It's uncertain whether the Shadowy Figure will make a final appearance in Phase 7.
While Phase 7 marks the end of Season of Discovery, World of Warcraft Classic players can look forward to new challenges. Following server maintenance, Phase 7 will go live on Tuesday, January 28. Players can immediately delve into the new Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon in Deadwind Pass, which explores the depths beneath the iconic Karazhan tower, later transformed into a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade. Additionally, the Scourge Invasions event will see hordes of undead monsters attacking various zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can engage in new Scourge Invasion quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands, collecting Necrotic Runes from undead enemies to purchase new consumable items.
