Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
This follows a string of recent issues for Warzone, including a brief matchmaking outage and ongoing reports of cheating and bugs. The latest glitch, reported on January 6th, caused games to freeze or crash during the loading process. This led to player frustration, particularly due to the imposition of Skill Rating (SR) penalties and temporary match bans.
In response to player outrage, Raven Software announced on January 9th a temporary suspension of SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unintended consequences of the bug while maintaining penalties for players who leave matches in progress.
Although this mitigates the immediate impact, the underlying bug remains unpatched. This continues a pattern of persistent bugs even after a major update in early January 2025, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the development team. While the temporary fix offers some relief, a complete resolution is still eagerly awaited by the Warzone community.
