Fans of the long-awaited sequel to the cult classic, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, have received yet another update regarding its release. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is now slated for release in October 2025, a slight delay from the previously anticipated first half of the year. This news was shared in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room.
Despite the delay, there's some positive news to share. According to Executive Producer Marco Behrmann, the game is complete and the current focus is on "bug fixing, stability, and performance" to ensure the best possible experience for players upon release. The update video also highlighted that The Chinese Room has been enhancing the game with additional content, deeper narratives, and improved character development. Notably, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline.
However, fans will have to be patient for further updates, as the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 social media channels have announced less frequent updates going forward. This sequel has faced numerous challenges and delays since its announcement in 2019. Initially developed by Hardsuit Labs with a planned Q1 2020 release, it experienced several delays, pushing the launch window to late 2020, then 2021. The project saw significant changes, including layoffs at Hardsuit in 2021 and a developer switch to The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release.
With the latest delay to October 2025, it remains to be seen if Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally satisfy the eager community of players. The Chinese Room remains optimistic about delivering a compelling experience. Looking ahead, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 succeed, a third installment might be developed by a different team.
