This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2, after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
The Lady Vengeance's control isn't conventional; you must discover an unconventional method to set sail. This involves exploration, conversing with NPCs, and acquiring key items. The ultimate goal is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and using the Ancient Empire Songbook.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghosts on deck. A dead magister holds a Sodden Diary containing a password. You can also obtain the password by passing a skill check at the northern stateroom door. Additionally, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror (south of the stateroom doors) allows respeccing characters, useful for skill checks.
Find the Portside Stateroom
Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem (found on Bishop Alexander's regalia) to unlock the Portside Stateroom door. This leads to Magister Dallis' cabin. Interact with Bishop Alexander (west of the cabin) to get the gem.
Find the Songbook
Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, talk to Tarquin and Dallis extensively. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be limited once the ship sails.
Setting Sail
Return to the deck and tell Malady about the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine (west of the deck) and sing the song. Lady Vengeance will begin to move. Be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is adequately prepared.
