Best Decks in Pokémon TCG Pocket

Understanding strong cards is crucial, but effective deck construction is key. Here are the top-performing decks currently available.

S-Tier Decks

Gyarados Ex/Greninja Combo

This deck utilizes a synergistic strategy combining Gyarados Ex and Greninja. The core includes: Froakie (x2), Frogadier (x2), Greninja (x2), Druddigon (x2), Magikarp (x2), Gyarados Ex (x2), Misty (x2), Leaf (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Poké Ball (x2).

Druddigon acts as a sturdy defender (100 HP) and inflicts consistent chip damage without energy investment. Simultaneously, Greninja delivers additional chip damage and serves as a primary attacker when necessary. Finally, Gyarados Ex finishes opponents weakened by earlier attacks.

Pikachu Ex

Currently the top deck, Pikachu Ex excels in speed and aggression. The essential cards are: Pikachu Ex (x2), Zapdos Ex (x2), Blitzle (x2), Zebstrika (x2), Poké Ball (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), Giovanni (x2).

Pikachu Ex consistently deals 90 damage with only two Energy. Adding Voltorb and Electrode offers additional offensive options, with Electrode's free retreat proving particularly valuable.

Raichu Surge

While slightly less consistent than the primary Pikachu Ex deck, Raichu and Lt. Surge provide powerful surprise attacks. Key cards include: Pikachu Ex (x2), Pikachu (x2), Raichu (x2), Zapdos Ex (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poké Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), Lt. Surge (x2).

Pikachu Ex and Raichu serve as primary attackers, with Lt. Surge mitigating the energy discard drawback of Raichu. X Speed enables strategic retreats.

A-Tier Decks

Celebi Ex and Serperior Combo

The Mythical Island expansion boosted Grass-type decks, with Celebi Ex and Serperior at the forefront. Include: Snivy (x2), Servine (x2), Serperior (x2), Celebi Ex (x2), Dhelmise (x2), Erika (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Poké Ball (x2), X Speed (x2), Potion (x2), Sabrina (x2).

Serperior's Jungle Totem doubles Grass Pokémon energy, amplified by Celebi Ex's coin flips for substantial damage. Dhelmise provides a secondary attacking option. Fire-type decks pose a significant counter.

Koga Poison

This deck utilizes poison-based strategies. Essential cards include: Venipede (x2), Whirlipede (x2), Scolipede (x2), Koffing (x2), Weezing (x2), Tauros, Poké Ball (x2), Koga (x2), Sabrina, Leaf (x2).

Scolipede delivers high damage to poisoned opponents, aided by Weezing and Whirlipede's poison effects. Koga facilitates Weezing's deployment, while Leaf reduces retreat costs. Tauros serves as a powerful finisher against Ex decks. This deck is particularly effective against Mewtwo Ex.

Mewtwo Ex/Gardevoir Combo

This deck focuses on the synergy between Mewtwo Ex and Gardevoir. Include: Mewtwo Ex (x2), Ralts (x2), Kirlia (x2), Gardevoir (x2), Jynx (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poké Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), Giovanni (x2).

Gardevoir supports Mewtwo Ex's Psydrive attack. Jynx provides early-game stalling and attack capabilities.

B-Tier Decks

Charizard Ex

Charizard Ex boasts high damage output, but relies on specific card draws. Include: Charmander (x2), Charmeleon (x2), Charizard Ex (x2), Moltres Ex (x2), Potion (x2), X Speed (x2), Poké Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Sabrina (x2), Giovanni (x2).

Moltres Ex assists in early energy accumulation for Charizard Ex's devastating attacks. Successful setup is crucial.

Colorless Pidgeot

This deck utilizes basic Pokémon with high value. Include: Pidgey (x2), Pidgeotto (x2), Pidgeot, Poké Ball (x2), Professor’s Research (x2), Red Card, Sabrina, Potion (x2), Rattata (x2), Raticate (x2), Kangaskhan, Farfetch’d (x2).

Rattata and Raticate provide early-game damage, while Pidgeot's ability forces opponent's Pokémon switches.

This tier list provides a current snapshot of Pokémon TCG Pocket deck effectiveness. The meta is dynamic, so continuous adjustments may be necessary.
