Indus, the Indian-made battle royale game, has unveiled a new 4v4 deathmatch mode
The game has also surpassed 11m pre-registrations in another milestone
However, a full release is still not set in stone, with the game remaining in closed beta
Supergaming's Indus is introducing a 4v4 deathmatch mode as the game, which is touted as a wholly domestically-produced title by and for an Indian audience, also adds a new 4v4 deathmatch mode. Those playing the closed beta will also be able to experience an improved audio experience with the latest overhaul of effects and music.
Indus is an upcoming battle royale game designed by and for an Indian audience. It boasts the usual features of the battle royale genre, including some innovative inclusions like a Grudge system to reward you for duking it out with rival players.
It's also been a long time coming, first announced back in 2022. The game has seen a number of betas and continued increases in features since then, while steadily creeping up in interest with some serious milestones of pre-registered players. All of which is to be expected, and quite beneficial, for a country with a huge and growing mobile gaming audience.

With how long Indus has been in development, the exceeding of 11 million registrations is impressive but indicates a slight deceleration. The last major benchmark the game achieved was in March with 10 million pre-registrations, and while that extra million is significant, it's not the rapid growth the game previously experienced.
We're excited to see Indus finally reach players. And while new features are always appreciated, the projected release date at the end of 2023 we anticipated has passed. So we hope 2024 will bring a full release, or at least a public beta.
