Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season Two with a massive content drop! New characters, a brand-new map, and exciting challenges await players starting January 3rd. Even better? Exclusive in-game rewards are up for grabs by watching the new episodes on Netflix!
Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players, subscribers and non-subscribers alike, has paid off. This new content update is designed to entice non-users, rewarding them for watching the show with valuable in-game prizes.
What's in store for existing players? The update introduces a map inspired by the "Mingle" mini-game from Squid Game Season Two. Three new playable characters—Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos—will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will each have special in-game unlock events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. And for those watching the show, additional rewards are available! Watching Squid Game Season Two episodes earns in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching seven episodes unlocks the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!
Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: New "Mingle" map launches alongside Geum-Ja. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins, challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins (event runs until January 9th).
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his own recruitment event, "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge." Players eliminate opponents using knives to unlock this character (event runs until January 14th).
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final character addition in this wave.
Squid Game: Unleashed is proving to be a significant step for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, combined with the incentive to watch the show for in-game rewards, cleverly supports both the game and the original series.
