Rainbow Six Siege X is currently in its closed beta phase but is set for a wide release in June 2025, available to both home console and PC players. Ubisoft has hailed this update as the biggest content revamp in the game's history. A key feature introduced in the closed beta is the Dual Front game mode, which supports 6-on-6 team battles.

Dual Front mode offers a larger, more chaotic experience than most existing game modes in Rainbow Six Siege. The mode features larger maps where teams must strategically decide which areas to attack and defend, completing objectives in each area while engaging the enemy. Alongside the new game mode, Siege X is set to revamp several existing maps, enhance the user interface, improve the technical presentation, and introduce a rebalanced online matchmaking system, particularly to assist newer players.

On March 13, 2025, Ubisoft launched a gameplay trailer for Rainbow Six Siege X to coincide with the start of its closed beta test. The trailer showcases the Dual Front mode, highlighting its frenetic 6-on-6 gameplay on a new map. It also teases enhancements to the core game, including technical improvements, new gameplay features, and rewards for existing players. Additionally, Siege X will offer free-to-play access to attract new players.

The Rainbow Six Siege X closed beta ran from March 13 to March 19, with select partner players streaming their gameplay on Twitch. Viewers had the chance to receive access codes to the closed beta by watching these streams, with the access valid for the six-day duration. To participate, players needed to link their Twitch account to their Ubisoft Connect account. Notably, ownership of Rainbow Six Siege was not required to participate in the Siege X closed beta.

Ubisoft has detailed how players can access the Siege X closed beta on their website. There are no announced plans for additional beta testing, including an open beta, before the full launch of Siege X in June. As Rainbow Six Siege marks its tenth anniversary, Siege X represents an ambitious leap forward, continuing Ubisoft's tradition of delivering engaging games inspired by Tom Clancy's works.
