The Magus primarily uses fire-based attacks. Equipping fire-resistant accessories (found in golden chests throughout the dungeon) is crucial for survival. These accessories are also beneficial for the final boss battle.
Be wary of the Magus's attack patterns. When it begins charging, guard on your next turn. It often unleashes Agilao, a powerful fire spell capable of instantly defeating unprepared party members. While Hysterical Slap, a multi-hit physical attack, is also dangerous, Agilao poses the greater threat. Strategically, it's advisable to have Chie and Yosuke focus on guarding, leaving the offensive to the protagonist.
Early-Game Persona with Light Skills: Archangel
The optimal early-game Persona for exploiting the Magical Magus's weakness is Archangel (Level 11). It naturally possesses Hama, an instant-kill attack effective against light weaknesses. Archangel also learns Media at level 12, a valuable healing skill for the final boss fight.
