Keep Track of Your Fortnite Spending: A Guide to Checking Your V-Buck Expenses
Fortnite is free, but its tempting skins can lead to significant V-Buck purchases. To avoid unexpected bank statement surprises, here's how to track your Fortnite spending:
There are two primary methods: reviewing your Epic Games Store account and utilizing the Fortnite.gg website. Regularly monitoring your spending is crucial, as seemingly small purchases can quickly accumulate. (Consider the cautionary tale of the Candy Crush player who unknowingly spent nearly $800 in three months!)
Method 1: Check Your Epic Games Store Account
All V-Buck transactions, regardless of platform or payment method, are recorded in your Epic Games Store account. Follow these steps:
- Visit the Epic Games Store website and log in.
- Click your username (top right).
- Select "Account," then "Transactions."
- On the "Purchase" tab, scroll through your transaction history, clicking "Show More" as needed.
- Identify entries for V-Buck purchases (e.g., "5,000 V-Bucks," potentially with a dollar amount). Record the V-Bucks and currency amounts.
- Use a calculator to sum your total V-Bucks and total currency spent.
Important Notes: Free Epic Games Store games will appear in your transactions; you'll need to filter them out. V-Buck card redemptions may not display a dollar amount.
Method 2: Utilize Fortnite.gg
As noted by Dot Esports, Fortnite.gg offers a helpful, albeit manual, method:
- Go to Fortnite.gg and log in (or create an account).
- Navigate to "My Locker."
- Manually add each purchased outfit and cosmetic item to your locker. (Click the item, then "+ Locker.") You can also search for items.
- Your locker will then display the total V-Buck value of your owned cosmetics.
- Use a V-Buck to dollar converter (easily found online) to estimate your total spending.
While neither method is perfectly automated, they provide effective ways to monitor your Fortnite spending.
Fortnite is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
