David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, shared a celebratory New Year's greeting on Bluesky, highlighting the auspicious timing of 2025 as the Year of the Snake. With a new Metal Gear game on the horizon, it seems like the perfect year for Snake's return. Hayter will reprise his iconic role in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

Konami themselves acknowledged this lucky coincidence with a New Year's video featuring taiko drummers and calligraphy, culminating in a bold "SNAKE YEAR" announcement. This underscores the significance of 2025 not just for the Chinese zodiac, but for Solid Snake himself.

Since its May 2024 announcement, along with a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, news on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a high-quality, polished game in 2025 is a top priority and a significant challenge.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic, is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, new voice work, and additional lines from the original voice cast.
