Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch with the Fantastic Four!
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This supersized season is all thanks to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four together.
This expanded season includes a wealth of new content:
- Three New Maps: Explore iconic New York City locations – the Sanctum Sanctorum (launching with Season 1 and featuring the new Doom Match mode), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
- The Fantastic Four Arrive: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut in Season 1, with The Thing and Human Torch joining the roster in the mid-season update (approximately six to seven weeks after launch).
The decision to launch with the Fantastic Four, as explained by Creative Director Guangyun Chen, accounts for the season's extended length. While this first season is significantly larger, NetEase Games hasn't detailed how this will affect future seasons' content additions. For now, it's anticipated that two new heroes or villains will be added per season.
While the excitement for Season 1 is palpable, some fans expressed disappointment over the absence of Blade. However, the possibility of his future inclusion remains open. With the abundance of new content and ongoing speculation, the future of Marvel Rivals looks incredibly promising.
