Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps

Marvel Rivals' first season continues to expand its content, introducing new maps themed around a nocturnal New York City. Alongside the Fantastic Four heroes and cosmetic additions, players can now explore several new battlegrounds. This guide details each new map in Season 1.

Table of Contents

  • Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
  • Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
  • Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Launched at the start of Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across the map. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. Midtown depicts a dark, Dracula's Blood Moon-infused version of New York City, featuring iconic Marvel and real-world locations:

  • Baxter Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Stark/Avengers Tower
  • Fisk Tower
  • Ardmore’s Bookstore
  • Timely Trend

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

This map, a unique Empire of Eternal Night rendition of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is exclusive to the Doom Match mode—a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the highest scorer receiving MVP.

The Sanctum Santorum, faithfully recreated from its comic book origins (1963) and MCU appearances, serves as Earth's supernatural defense in this season. Expect hidden secrets, impossible architecture, portals, and even a chance to interact with Bats the Ghost Dog.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Scheduled for release later in Season 1, Central Park is set to feature a stylized Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic structure provides a fitting backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night theme, potentially serving as a New York City hideout for Dracula. Inspired by its appearances in various Marvel media, most recently Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (2023), this map promises a unique gameplay experience.

These are all the new maps currently confirmed for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
