Jack Quaid, star of the hit series *The Boys*, has expressed his enthusiasm for potentially starring in a *BioShock* movie. During a Reddit AMA held in conjunction with the release of his latest film, *Novocaine*, Quaid shared that *BioShock* ranks among his all-time favorite games. He praised the game's deep and engaging lore, suggesting it holds significant potential for a TV or movie adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of *BioShock* - one of my favorite games of all time," Quaid stated. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
However, the likelihood of a *BioShock* movie coming to fruition remains uncertain. Last July, producer Roy Lee mentioned that the project had undergone a "reconfiguration" due to changes in leadership, aiming for a more "personal" film. These shifts were influenced by budget cuts from Netflix, though specifics about the film's plot remain undisclosed. Despite the changes, Francis Lawrence, known for directing *The Hunger Games*, is still set to direct the *BioShock* adaptation. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we're doing a much smaller version. It's going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
In addition to his interest in *BioShock*, Quaid's resemblance to the video game character Max Payne has caught the attention of fans, especially given his role in *Novocaine*. Some have even speculated that the film might be a covert Max Payne adaptation due to the striking similarities. Quaid himself acknowledged the resemblance, saying, "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take. I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond *BioShock* and Max Payne, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware's challenging games. In the same Reddit AMA, he shared his journey through titles like *Bloodborne*, *Sekiro*, and *Elden Ring*. "I'm a huge video game nerd," Quaid confessed. "And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat *Bloodborne*, then I beat *Sekiro*, and now I'm going full boar into *Elden Ring*. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
