Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Composers Snag Golden Globe

Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, the composers behind the soundtrack for Naughty Dog's upcoming game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, have added another accolade to their impressive list of achievements: a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Their award-winning work was for Luca Guadagnino's film Challengers.

The recent Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet trailer showcased a preview of Reznor and Ross's composition, alongside licensed tracks included in the game. Known for their extensive collaboration on Nine Inch Nails and acclaimed scores for films directed by David Fincher and Pete Docter, the duo previously won an Academy Award for The Social Network and Soul, alongside numerous Grammys, an Emmy, and a BAFTA. Reznor's experience in game soundtracks extends back to 1996's Quake and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Ross and Reznor accepted the Golden Globe from presenters Elton John and Brandi Carlile. Ross described the Challengers score as "never...a safe choice, but it always felt like the right one," highlighting its contemporary, club-influenced electronic style that complements the film's themes. Given their current creative peak, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet's soundtrack is highly anticipated as a potential all-time great.

Golden Globe Win Boosts Anticipation for Intergalactic

The unlikely pairing of Nine Inch Nails' industrial rock roots with the worlds of film and video game scoring has proven remarkably successful. Reznor and Ross have consistently demonstrated versatility, crafting the haunting atmosphere of The Social Network, the ethereal soundscapes of Soul, and now, the mysterious sounds for Naughty Dog's space exploration title. With online hints suggesting horror elements in Intergalactic, their musical choices seem particularly fitting.

The Golden Globe win further elevates anticipation for Intergalactic, potentially a significant departure for Naughty Dog. Given their impeccable track record, the game's soundtrack promises to be exceptional.
