By SamuelJan 23,2025

Hello, fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise game releases. This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but, and that's great news for us! We've got news, a look at today's eShop additions, and the daily sales updates. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Bounty of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved clever, resulting in a flurry of announcements. Highlights include several surprise releases (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remakes, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new entries in the Atelier and Rune Factory series, and much more. I highly recommend watching the full video; it's worth your time!

Select New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A fantastic surprise from the Direct! This third Castlevania collection features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the notorious arcade game, Haunted Castle, along with an M2-developed remake that significantly improves upon the original. This collection offers exceptional emulation and features; it's an incredible value.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is another surprise release. Players must navigate five challenging floors of the Pizza Tower to save their restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will love this, but even those without strong Wario ties should find the frantic platforming action appealing. We hope to review this soon.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

More surprise releases! It's Goat Simulator 3. You know the drill. While I can't confirm its performance on Switch, other platforms have experienced some performance issues. Proceed with caution, but even subpar performance might add to the game's chaotic charm. Ultimately, it's your call. Expect silly goats, silly antics, and potentially, some Switch stress.

Peglin ($19.99)

While it's easy to criticize EA's decision to not bring PopCap games to Switch, Peglin is a fantastic alternative for Peggle fans. Available on mobile for some time, this title blends Peggle gameplay with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. Expect a review soon!

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft's latest shop sim incorporates the popular Doraemon license. While following the familiar Kairosoft formula, it features characters from Doraemon and even includes cameos from the manga artist's other works.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for existing fans! Supporting up to eight players via local or online multiplayer, this puzzle game emphasizes cooperation. While not drastically different from the first game, it's a solid addition for those who enjoyed the original.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio music. Simple, fun, and a great value.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels await.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Players utilize character abilities and drawing to solve problems. Up to four players can enjoy local or online multiplayer.
