Exciting new images, details, and a construction start date have been unveiled for the highly anticipated Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King, set to become a major highlight of the newly reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the 1994 classic, featuring a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and a plethora of dining, shopping, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney has shared a new concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle setting. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which will also thrill guests with a dramatic 52-foot drop, slightly taller than the drop on Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date hasn't been set, the ride is slated to open after the grand launch of World of Frozen in 2026. The Lion King ride will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand to twice the size of the current park.
In addition to The Lion King ride and World of Frozen, the park will feature the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition will be the first-ever attraction themed after Up, a "spinning carousel" that promises a breathtaking "bird's eye view of the park's stunning scenery."
The World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will serve as the new park entrance, designed to evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will feature theaters hosting spectacular shows such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
