Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Embark on your journey as a Soul Spirit, facing a crucial decision: become a Shinigami or embrace the path of the Hollow. Opting for the latter involves breaking all the links on your chain, a process that will naturally occur every two minutes, transforming you into a Hollow without any action on your part.
Warning: Before you commit to the Hollow path in Hollow Era, consider that the journey can be more tedious compared to the Shinigami route. While Hollows are undeniably cooler, reaching the pinnacle of Vasto Lorde or Espada status requires significant grinding and repetitive kills.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your first milestone is evolving into a Gillian, a transformation achieved through the relentless hunting and consumption of other Hollows. Reaching level 15 marks your evolution, but at level 10, you can access the Hueco Mundo dimension via a Garganta gateway, making the hunt for Hollows more efficient.
Keep in mind, as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Shinigami and other Hollows, a challenge not faced by Shinigami. For a detailed guide on Shinigami progression, refer to our full guide.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your focus shifts to eliminating Hollows and interacting with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Accumulate enough Progression Points to be teleported to your inner world, where you'll face three rounds of tougher Hollows. Successfully defeating them three times will evolve you into an Adjucha.
Remember, these inner world Hollows are much more challenging, but don't fear death—you can retry this challenge as needed.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
At the Adjucha stage, you face a pivotal choice: progress towards becoming a Vasto Lorde or an Arrancar.
Arrancar Progression
To transform into an Arrancar, seek out Crystal Bushes in Hueco Mundo, which appear every 30 to 60 minutes. Interacting with one will instantly turn you into an Arrancar, granting you access to Hueco Mundo via a keybind. At level 50, you'll be ready to pursue your Resurrección, but until then, you're limited to Kendo skills.
Vasto Lorde Progression
For those aiming to become a Vasto Lorde, continue the grind of eliminating and consuming Hollows to gather Progression Points. Be cautious, as death will cost you 1% of your points. Achieving Vasto Lorde status requires 800 Progression Points, earned through the following kills:
- Hollow: 1 Point
- Gillian: 6 Points
- Adjucha: 4 Points
- Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
- Arrancar: 8 Points
- Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde form in the Hollow Era
Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You'll need 800 race Progression Points and to collect all Hollow Items, which have random drop chances. Here's a list of items and the creatures that drop them:
- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
If you choose the Vasto Lorde path, your next evolution is into an Espada. Similar to becoming an Arrancar, you'll need to find and interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo.
To locate a Crystal Bush more easily, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your settings, then scan the area from a high vantage point.
How to Get Your Resurrección
Once you're an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to unlock your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then head to Hueco Mundo to meet Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo. He'll task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill your Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage. The default keybind for Resurrección is "Y", and it will deactivate when you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Choosing the Hollow path may seem cooler, but it's less versatile than the Shinigami route. Be ready for extensive grinding and remember, as a Hollow, you'll be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. If combat becomes overwhelming, use the lockup button to focus on your primary target. This can be a lifesaver, especially in laggy situations where you're stuck but not taking damage.
Learn to block enemy attacks quickly, as even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your health doesn't regenerate fast enough. Upon dying, you'll lose some money, but the real hassle is trekking back to your quest targets. Consider investing in the bus teleport to save time and effort.
When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially, regardless of your chosen race. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are tempting, you'll benefit most from increased damage and mobility early on.
When lost, press and hold J (default keybind) to use your Reiatsu sense and reveal markers around Karakura.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. The game is still in development, so expect some bugs and lag, even on high-performance PCs. Before you start your adventure, make sure to redeem your Hollow Era codes for an early boost, as this game is challenging from the outset.
