Hearthstone's upcoming Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching January 21st, boasts a record-breaking 49 new cards. This expansion introduces class and multi-class cards themed around StarCraft factions – Zerg (Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, Warlock), Protoss (Druid, Mage, Priest, Rogue), and Terran (Paladin, Shaman, Warrior) – plus a single neutral Legendary card.
Initially teased during the November 13th, 2024 Warcraft Direct, the Mini-Set bridges the gap between Hearthstone and StarCraft. The full set costs $20 (or 2500 gold), a $5 premium over standard Mini-Sets, reflecting its increased size. Alternatively, individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) are available for $10 (or 1200 gold). A complete golden set costs $80 (or 12,000 gold).
Gameplay mechanics showcased include Zerg's focus on Zergling swarms and Hydralisk damage scaling, Protoss's mana manipulation strategies, and Terran's utilization of the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
To celebrate the release, Blizzard is hosting two streamed events: StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST) featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9, and HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST) showcasing Hearthstone community creators. Viewers can earn four packs (two standard, two golden) from The Great Dark Beyond by watching these streams on Twitch.
