Hearthstone's Year of the Raptor: New Expansion, Core Set Update, and Esports Return
The Year of the Raptor has begun in Hearthstone, bringing with it a new expansion cycle, a revamped Core Set, and the exciting return of esports. The first expansion, Into the Emerald Dream, is launching soon, preceded by a special pre-release event. Players can also anticipate a visually and aurally enhanced Year of the Raptor game board.
This year's Core Set update features a blend of returning favorites, balance adjustments, and brand-new cards. Several cards known for their disruptive burst damage and frustrating effects have been removed to improve gameplay. Further details on the Core Set update will be revealed soon.
Competitive Hearthstone is back! 2025 will see two Seasonal Championships and a World Championship, forming the core of Hearthstone Esports. In partnership with Netease Thunderfire, the program boasts a minimum prize pool of $600,000, aiming to expand the competitive player base. Complete format and ruleset details are forthcoming.
A significant Arena update is slated for Patch 32.2, following the release of Into the Emerald Dream. While specifics are still under wraps, this update promises a refined drafting experience and a fresh take on the Arena mode. Patch 32.2 will also include a Battlegrounds Seasonal Update and the Into the Emerald Dream Mini-Set, arriving a patch earlier than usual.
This altered patch schedule reflects an overall adjustment to better synchronize development and content release cycles. The Into the Emerald Dream expansion will maintain its standard structure, including all planned updates and events. The regular patch schedule will resume with Patch 33.0 after Patch 32.4.
