Bethesda and id Software showcased a new DOOM: The Dark Ages demo at the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks of a May 15th release date.
Transporting players to the medieval era, DOOM: The Dark Ages offers a distinct gameplay experience from its predecessors. Forget the frenetic parkour of DOOM: Eternal; this iteration emphasizes a more grounded, tank-like approach. Players will feel like unstoppable killing machines, utilizing a powerful arsenal to decimate hordes of demons.
Central to this brutal efficiency are the shield and mace, providing a new tactical dimension to combat. For the first time in the series, players will command a giant mech to overcome smaller demons, adding a strategic layer to the carnage. Further enhancing the experience, players will even get to ride a dragon during the campaign.
A flexible difficulty system allows players to tailor the challenge to their preference, adjusting enemy damage, and other parameters for a personalized experience.
