"Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Development Progressing - Director"

Game director Hamaguchi has shared insights on the ongoing development of the sequel to the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy Rebirth, part of the iconic Final Fantasy VII trilogy. He emphasized the team's dedication to crafting a worthy follow-up but urged fans to remain patient as new details will be revealed in due time. Hamaguchi highlighted that 2024 marked a triumphant year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, garnering numerous awards and capturing global attention. The focus now shifts towards broadening the Final Fantasy VII fanbase with unique challenges set to be introduced in the eagerly anticipated third installment.

In an interesting aside, Hamaguchi mentioned his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI, acknowledging the pressure faced by the Rockstar Games team following the monumental success of GTA V. While specifics about the third part of the Final Fantasy VII trilogy remain under wraps, Hamaguchi assured fans that development is progressing smoothly. This comes shortly after the release of Final Fantasy Rebirth, less than a year ago, promising an unparalleled gaming experience in the upcoming title.

On a different note, the launch of Final Fantasy XVI in May 2024 did not meet sales expectations, falling short of the fiscal year's forecasts. Square Enix has yet to release detailed sales figures for Final Fantasy XVI or the more recent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the latter of which also did not meet initial projections. However, the company remains optimistic, not labeling these releases as failures. They believe that Final Fantasy XVI still has the potential to reach its sales goals within the next 18 months.
