Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

The classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*, has just received a significant free update on Android, courtesy of Feral Interactive. Dubbed the Imperium Update, this enhancement introduces a host of gameplay tweaks, control improvements, and quality-of-life features that elevate the gaming experience to new heights. If you've been enjoying this timeless title since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat with these latest additions. And the good news doesn't stop there—next week, the standalone expansions *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* will also receive the same update.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update integrates some of the most successful features from Feral's more recent mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions provide enhanced command over units, making battles more precise and engaging. A simple tap and hold now allows you to move your army, agents, or fleets, eliminating the need for manual path dragging.

Positioning Mode offers the ability to fine-tune unit placements with ease, while the Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups through a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode is a game-changer, enabling ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it.

One of the most significant enhancements is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game when you're issuing complex orders, allowing for more strategic decision-making. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been added for Android (and iPad) users, enhancing the control options available.

The minimap in *ROME: Total War* has been revamped to resemble the one in *MEDIEVAL II*, with smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, making it easier to keep track of the battlefield.

The Imperium Update is now live and available for download on the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android owners. Be sure to install it and experience the improvements firsthand. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to *Barbarian Invasion* and *Alexander* next week, and don't miss out on these enhancements.
