Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction. This limited access test, running from February 14th to 17th, is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles. Applications are now open via the official FromSoftware website.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign generated significant excitement. While initially, developers stated there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's reveal at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.
This network test serves a crucial purpose: "a preliminary verification test…conducting large-scale network load tests," according to FromSoftware. The limited playtime, therefore, is intended for technical verification rather than extensive gameplay exploration.
Nightreign represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-operative gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as procedurally generated encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test strongly suggests a forthcoming official launch date announcement. PC players, excluded from this test, can anticipate Nightreign's arrival on their platform upon the game's full release.
