With the release of Days Gone Remastered on the horizon, Sony's Bend Studio has shared exciting details about the upcoming accessibility features. One of the standout additions is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down gameplay when things get intense. This feature aims to enhance the experience for those who find high-pressure situations challenging.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, highlighted the various accessibility options coming to the remastered version. Players can now adjust the Game Speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. With the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, this feature ensures that the unique combat experience remains accessible to all players.
Beyond Game Speed, Days Gone Remastered will offer a range of other accessibility options, including customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be available for the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller.
Announced in February, Days Gone Remastered will bring additional enhancements such as an improved photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, alongside the new accessibility features. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where you navigate as a biker amidst zombie hordes, the remaster of the 2019 action-adventure game is eagerly anticipated.
Mark your calendars for April 25, 2025, when Days Gone Remastered will be available. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the enhanced experience.
