Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements include new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive information on Monster Hunter Wilds.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release

Play Onimusha: Way of the Sword, slated for a 2026 release, will feature a new protagonist, compelling characters, and engaging enemies. The game aims for immersive sword combat, recreating the historical setting of Edo-period Kyoto. The protagonist, through a twist of fate, will wield an Oni Gauntlet, fueled by the souls of defeated Genma. While challenging, the developers aim for accessibility across skill levels.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remaster Coming in 2025

Play A remastered version of 2002's Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny is planned for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 Details

Play Monster Hunter Wilds' second Open Beta will introduce the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging quest. Additional content includes a Gypceros hunt, a training area, and online features like Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta is transferable. The beta runs:

  • Thursday, February 6, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 9, 6:59 PM PT
  • Thursday, February 13, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 16, 6:59 PM PT

PlayCharacter data transfers to the full game (February 28th release), but progress won't carry over. Participants receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds Unveils Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters

The showcase featured a story trailer showcasing the Iceshard Cliffs and new monsters: Rove (Wudwud), Hirabami (Leviathan), Nerscylla (Temnoceran), and Gore Magala.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Release Date

Play Capcom Fighting Collection 2 launches May 16, 2025, including Capcom vs. SNK titles, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone games, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword: Night of Bilstein.
