Call of Duty player successfully sued Activision to lift unfair in-game ban

A dedicated gamer, b00lin, waged a 763-day legal battle against Activision to overturn an unjust Steam ban. Their remarkable journey, chronicled in a detailed blog post, began with a seemingly innocuous 36+ hour Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta session in December 2023. Initially dismissed as a technical glitch, the ban was upheld by Activision despite b00lin's appeals.

Undeterred, b00lin pursued legal action. Activision, citing security concerns, refused to provide evidence of any alleged cheating, even withholding seemingly innocuous details like the name of the flagged software.

The subsequent court case exposed Activision's lack of concrete proof against b00lin. The court's decision, favoring b00lin and ordering Activision to cover legal fees and lift the ban, highlighted the company's extreme secrecy surrounding its anti-cheat measures. Justice was finally served in early 2025.
