Just one month after its Game Pass launch, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios released a celebratory new trailer for Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of this action-RPG, showcasing quotes from prominent gaming journalists.
This latest update introduces support for DLSS 4, including Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. These advancements significantly boost performance; NVIDIA showcased a potential three-fold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching up to 340 FPS. The developers also hinted at upcoming announcements regarding future support and a content roadmap in the weeks to come.
Beyond the technical upgrades, this update enhances the player experience. Players now gain an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards for existing players upon game load. Keyboard and mouse users can now toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature allows for increased font sizes in in-game text, documents, and guides.
While Avowed didn't achieve universal, perfect scores, it still earned widespread critical acclaim. Digital Foundry even lauded the game as a technical “triumph,” further cementing its reputation as a remarkable achievement from Obsidian.
