It's not just Gabe Newell who's known for his email responses, but not all news is positive for those who reach out. A Reddit user recently shared a reply they received from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. The player had emailed him with a straightforward question: when would Alan Wake 2 by Remedy be released on Steam?
Unfortunately for the gamer, Sweeney's response was brief and to the point, stating categorically that the release on Steam would not happen, without any further elaboration. Disappointed, the user mentioned they would resort to Plan B: purchasing the game on Xbox.

Alan Wake 2 distinguishes itself from many Epic Games Store exclusives because Epic Games not only published the horror title but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Remedy has stated that the sales of Alan Wake 2 met their business forecasts, and the studio expressed satisfaction with this collaboration. However, moving forward, Remedy plans to self-publish their future games, which means they will be available on platforms like Steam as well. Despite its initial release, more than a year later, the horror game has yet to turn a profit.
