Monster Hunter Wilds is offering a second Open Beta, giving players another shot at the action and showcasing new features. Read on for details on how to participate!
New Monster, New Hunt
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February.
Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to experience the game before its official February 28th launch. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta includes content absent from the first, notably the addition of the Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.
Character data from the previous beta carries over and can be transferred to the full game upon release. However, progress won't be saved. Participants receive in-game rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm and a helpful bonus item pack for the full game.
"We understand many missed the first beta or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "The team is diligently working on finalizing the full game." While a pre-launch community update video detailed upcoming improvements, these won't be included in this beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Happy hunting!
