J.C. Lee Denies Elder Abuse Claims Against Her

By AaliyahApr 19,2025

J.C. Lee, the daughter of the iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee, has broken her silence in an exclusive interview with Business Insider, firmly denying previous allegations of elder abuse against both her father and her late mother, Joan. The accusations, which surfaced in 2017 following Joan's death and were detailed in a 2018 The Hollywood Reporter (THR) article, painted a troubling picture of J.C. Lee's relationship with her parents. The THR report claimed that J.C. Lee pressured her parents for money and control of assets, engaged in heated verbal disputes with Stan Lee, and was involved in at least one physical altercation. The article included a photo of a bruise on Joan Lee's arm as evidence, which J.C. Lee vehemently denies causing.

In her recent interview, J.C. Lee labeled the accusations as "a lie," explaining that she refrained from making a public denial at the time of the THR piece on the advice of those around her. "You think I haven't regretted it to this day?" she stated, emphasizing the falsehood of the claims and the absurdity of the photo evidence. While J.C. Lee admitted to having heated arguments with her parents over financial matters, she insisted that these disputes never escalated to physical violence. "I never ever touched my parents," she affirmed.

Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95 due to a heart attack. The Business Insider interview delves deeper into J.C. Lee's life, exploring her experiences growing up as the child of a famous figure, her ongoing financial struggles, the influence of others, feelings of loneliness, her creative endeavors, and the challenges of living with her father's enduring legacy.
