The Rune Giant is Clash Royale's newest Epic card, unlocked in the Jungle Arena (Arena 9). A free Rune Giant is available via a limited-time shop offer (until January 17th, 2025). After this date, it can only be obtained from chests or the in-game shop.
This guide explores the Rune Giant's strategic applications and showcases effective deck builds.
Clash Royale Rune Giant Overview
The Rune Giant is an Epic card targeting enemy Towers and defensive structures. At tournament level, it boasts 2803 Hitpoints and medium movement speed, dealing 120 damage to buildings – more than an Ice Golem, but less than a Giant.
Its key strength lies not in its tankiness, but its unique Enchant effect. Upon deployment, it enhances two nearby troops, boosting their damage output on every third hit. This buffing capability makes it exceptionally potent in specific card combinations.
Costing only four elixirs, it's easily cycled without excessive elixir expenditure. Fast-attacking troops like the Dart Goblin maximize its effect, while slower units can strategically leverage the Enchant.

Unlike the Golem, the Rune Giant isn't a standalone win condition. It excels as a support troop, distracting enemies and absorbing tower hits while your other units attack.
Best Rune Giant Decks in Clash Royale
Here are some top-performing Rune Giant decks:
- Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
- Battle Ram 3M
- Hog EQ Firecracker
Detailed deck breakdowns follow.
Goblin Giant Cannon Cart
While the Goblin Giant Sparky deck remains viable, this Cannon Cart variant offers a strong alternative incorporating the Rune Giant.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
This beatdown deck boasts robust defense against various strategies. The Rune Giant ideally buffs the Cannon Cart and Goblin Giant (including the Spear Goblins). The Cannon Cart's durability ensures significant damage to troops and towers. The Elixir Collector fuels consistent pushes, while the Lumberjack and Rage provide additional Goblin Giant boosts. However, its lack of dedicated air defense makes it vulnerable to Lava Hound decks. This deck utilizes the Royal Chef Tower Troop.
Battle Ram 3M
The Three Musketeers, while expensive, regain relevance with the Rune Giant. This deck resembles Pekka Bridge Spam.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
Early game pressure relies on the Bandit, Royal Ghost, and Evo Battle Ram. The Elixir Collector builds an elixir advantage for the Double Elixir phase. The Three Musketeers are strategically deployed for maximum impact. Defense centers on the Rune Giant and Hunter combo, with the Rune Giant tanking while the Hunter, buffed by the Enchant, eliminates threats. Evo Zap supports Battle Ram pushes. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
Hog EQ Firecracker
A top-tier Hog Rider deck enhanced by the Rune Giant.
Card Name
Elixir Cost
Gameplay mirrors the standard Hog EQ Firecracker, replacing Valkyrie or Mighty Miner with the Rune Giant. The Rune Giant's Enchant significantly boosts the Firecracker's damage. The Earthquake provides substantial late-game tower damage. Evo Skeletons remain effective defensively. This deck uses the Tower Princess Tower Troop.
The Rune Giant introduces strategic depth to Clash Royale. Its buffing ability encourages experimentation with unique card combinations. These decks provide a starting point; personalize them to suit your playstyle.
